Firstly, i'm a bit pessimistic about our local movie industry.
I watched Sepet this morning and i was amazed by the storyline, the script and of course the acting. Not the typical Malaysian movie whereby the acting sucks, script sucks. This movie is really down to earth and it captures the true identity of our society. The protagonist pakai motor ex-5, jual vcd..no evo,bmw shit involved.
The script pun bagus. Actors tak ckp mcm robot and the words that they used make sense..like everyday coversation, so the audience can relate to it easily. when it comes to script writing, i'm like so dissapointed with our local script writers. Bukan nya tak boleh buat script2 yg logical, cuma malas i think. Who am i to critic them..but a script writer should know how to make it sound logical and precise.
The setting and props of the movie also best. very simple and straight forward. Tak payah nak meletup sana sini, lepak kat gunung mana2 tah semata2 nak jiwang, no need to hv super cars which i think a lil bit lame in a sense, no KLCC and bintang walk..finally! No gay shit involved.
The acting, hmmm..im quite impressed. Penghayatan watak cukup berkesan. And lastly, the storyline..the core of it all. A chinese bloke fall in love with a malay girl..tu jer. Nampak simple. With a good script, good acting, citer ni mmg bagus. The ending..aiseehhh..go and watch it if u guys havent.
